The Basilica of Our Lady in Tongeren
also known as the *Onze-Lieve-Vrouwebasiliek, is a striking Gothic church and former cathedral in Belgium. It’s famous for its towering belfry, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The church’s rich history spans centuries, and inside, visitors can admire the 15th-century walnut statue of the Virgin Mary, central to Tongeren’s Coronation Celebrations held every seven years.
